Shownotes:
In this episode, the Universe hands me the gift of a great idea, and some good people to help me make that idea a reality.
This episode was a true Christmas miracle for me. I searched high and low for music for it, and I stumbled across The Perfect Version of "We Three Kings" by Derek K. Miller on the Podsafe Music Network. As soon as I heard it, I knew it was perfect.
It was the first time I'd dared to create an audio play, and I'm grateful to Sage Tyrtle of the Quirky Nomads podcast, and Bruce Murray of The Zedcast, who immediately agreed to provide the voices for Madame Sofronie and Jim; and to my Tech Guy, who agreed to narrate the story, even though he usually prefers to stay behind the scenes.
For that alone, he merits the gift of handknits.
Audio:
Water/wave sample under intro created by pushtobreak from The Freesound Project
Musicbox Silent Night recording by bilwiss from The Freesound Project
Music featured in this episode:
"Just Stockings On" by [munk] (from the Podsafe Music Network)
"We Three Kings" by Derek K. Miller (from the Podsafe Music Network)

Katherine,
Merry Christmas to you and your talented Tech Guy. Thanks for inviting me to be a part of your audio play, I had fun doing it. Have a Happy New Year, I'm looking forward to seeing you both again in 2008.

Well, thanks, Bruce, for coming out to the barn to help put on the show.
(Yes, I shall milk that metaphor for all it's worth :-) )
I think this was my favourite episode of all that I've done, if I'm allowed to say that...

thanks for this fun play. You should play it every year now! I haven't had coffee yet, so was just "sort of listening", thinking, oh, one of my favorite stories and then I perked up when Della gives him the .... socks and SOCKS THAT ROCK! Great and funny touch -- only to us knitters of course! Thanks for a morning picker-upper! Fun!

Thanks, Maryjo -- I'm glad you enjoyed it!
The irony is that I've yet to work with Socks that Rock -- I haven't wanted to order one skein online to try, and the only shop that carries it is an hour away, and every time they get a shipment in it's gone within a couple of hours, so I've never had a chance!
Maybe next year I'll make the pilgrimage to Rhinebeck and get to fight for it at their booth :-)
